Working Holiday Visa Application

This year's (2012) quota for Working Holiday Visa ran out rather fast. The application opened at 4th January 2012, 5am (10am, NZ) and all 1150 places were taken on the 6th January 2012! I guess this is the record-breaking-timing for fastest-selling-visa (I was one of the luck ones). And, I foresee next year will be worst. Good Luck for the people who are going next year, get ready to camp overnight!

Basically the things that you need to prepare for your application are as below:
1) Valid Passport (Make sure the expiry date is more than 15 months from your departure date)
For eg., in my case, I left Msia on 5th February 2012, thus my passport validity must at least till 5th May 2013. I have to delay my application because of this issue.
2) Credit card to make online payment (NZD 140)

The application process is pretty easy, just fill in the necessary details, pay and you will receive your approval within a week. For my case, it took 2 days ;-)

To be eligible
You must:
  • have a Malaysian passport that's valid for at least three months after your planned departure from New Zealand
  • be at least 18 and not more than 30 years old
