Tips of the Day: New Zealand (Part 1)

1)      Book your accommodation ahead, especially the cheaper ones! If you are travelling between Nov-Apr, make sure you make your reservation for lodging as most of the more economical dorms are fully-booked.
2)     BBH- Get one when you are here.  Although it costs you NZ$ 45, it helps to save at least NZ$ 3 for all BBH-registered hostels, NZ$ 20 worth of credit for phone calls.
3)    2° Phone card- This mobile network provides callings at the cheapest rates.
4)      Honesty- One culture you must apply in NZ! People here are darn friendly and you can’t afford to act in dishonesty once you got caught.
5)      Poh Chai pill- For your information, this pill contains herbs that are prohibited in NZ. Thus, take this out from your checklist to avoid any delay at the custom.
6)      Meals- Pre-booked your meals if you are flying on AirAsia where you can save 15%, and trust me you definitely need one.
7)      Prepare to walk like there is no tomorrow when you don’t have a car in NZ. Till date, I felt like I had walked a thousand miles.
